Admission Guidelines
We appreciate your interest in the Environmental Resources & Policy PhD program. The Environmental Resources & Policy program features concentrations in Water Resources; Energy and Mineral Resources; Forestry; Agricultural and Rural Land Resources; Environmental Policy and Administration; and GIS and Environmental Modeling. It is administered by the Graduate School with the cooperation of the Geography and Geology departments and the College of Agriculture.

Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores are required for admission to the program and for assistantships. Assistantships are awarded on a competitive basis. Please submit all application materials by January 15th to be considered for fall assistantships and October 1st for spring assistantships.

  • $50 Application Fee – Make check or money order payable to SIUC
  • Environmental Resources & Policy Program Application
  • Personal Statement/Goal Statement
  • Curriculum Vita or Resume
  • Transcripts - Certified or Original in sealed envelopes from all colleges/universities
  • Four (4) letters of recommendation in sealed envelopes or mailed directly to Environmental Resources & Policy
  • GRE Report (can be sent from testing unit). Institution code 1726, no department code
